Kristen and Joe :: Engaged :: Honey Pot Hill Orchard, Stow, MA
Engagement Photoshoot Date: October 2017
Sometimes a couple comes along to Kara Emily Krantz Photography and we instantly transform from strangers to friends. Joe Nolle & Kristen Potter are getting married next Friday, and I'm honored to be the one (out of hundreds!) they chose to document their day. 🌳💜
These two are witty, charming, ridiculous, hard-working, and fantastically in love.
I have truly been blessed with dream clients, again and again. 💛
Check out their endearing apple-picking engagement session! 🍎🍏
Tell us your story!
We actually met over ten years ago through mutual friends. We were both dating other people at the time. We both, without knowing it, thought the other person was really something special, but because the timing was wrong, nothing came of it.
Years passed and life brought us in different directions and in and out of different relationships, until two years ago when we reconnected. We talked for hours on the phone. For our first date, we went to the Mansion at Bald Hill in Woodstock, CT, and I knew something was different when I changed my clothes three times before Joe picked me up. Everything else just fell into place.
Joe is a huge part of my school
family, and my students adore him. Likewise, I adore his family. The first year or so of our relationship was met with many struggles.
Joe lost his grandfather after a long illness, and I lost a several people close to me. We have helped each other through the good times and the bad.
We are truly a team in a way that neither of us has ever experienced before but had always hoped for.
What do you love most about your partner?
Joe is one of the most kindhearted people I've ever met. He will do anything for the people he loves. He gives countless hours of his time to my students, traveling, building, keeping an eye on the kids, etc., because he knows my students are a huge part of my life.
He brings out the best in me, encouraging me to be generous, kind, thoughtful, and patient. He always knows how to put a smile on my face, whether it's a joke here or there, or a hug to let me know everything will be ok.
I love her... I love everything about this amazing woman. How am I this fortunate? Literally, my sun rises and sets on our life together. Lets get this out of the way now. Her butt. Yep, love IT. It's not the superficial things it's EVERYTHING we have together and individually. So! We are an amazing team. We do so many things together whether it's cooking at home or going to a show choir show with our 50+ kiddos. It is a crazy life at times be we level out each other. I love her desire to be part of our team and this family. Her ability to make me the best man I can be is my drive in life. I'm a goof... she has always been receptive and even encourages it. She loves me for me which is incredibly special. She is pretty amazing.
Tell us a little about yourselves.
Joe works in life insurance, and I teach middle school music and am the director of music at a small church.
When we aren't taking my competitive choir on the road, we enjoy sight-seeing, spending time with our family and pets, collecting bourbon, cooking, and being active. Joe enjoys photography and working on cars, and I am a fitness enthusiast and aspiring powerlifter.
We go to see our families in the various states when possible. We love doing it all together. Visiting
distilleries, breweries and even to local events. Spending time with family is our favorite! We enjoy going to local places in Worcester for a cocktail and some great food. We love great food and company. We love our trips whether 10 minutes south or 3 hours North equally. We look forward to travelling this world together! We love A lot.
If you could pick one word that describes you as a couple, what would it be and why?
Kristin: Joe and I are a team. We try to support one another as best we can through everything life throws at us.
Joe: Funtastic. Teamwork makes the (our) dream work.
