Hi, I’m Kara Emily Krantz — photographer, playwright, and storyteller.
After a few years in the teaching/theater world, I’ve returned to photography with fresh eyes and a full heart. Capturing your wedding isn’t just about pretty pictures: it’s about bottling the magic, whimsy, and fleeting moments that make your story one-of-a-kind.
As an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, and director, I’ve spent years shaping stories that move people. Photography is another way I do the same: this time with your love, your joy, your life at the center.
I’m not just another vendor with a camera. I’ll comfort your nephew when he pouts, laugh with your maid of honor about your quirks, reassure your mom (or MIL) that everything’s really okay, and crack a ridiculous joke to help your partner relax in front of the lens. I will care - deeply - about your special day.
Beforehand, we’ll meet for an engagement session: maybe frolicking in the woods, strolling your favorite park, or cozying up in your backyard. By the time your wedding arrives, I won’t feel like a stranger with a camera anymore. I’ll feel like a friend: one who just happens to be documenting the joy, the tears, and your dance-floor shenanigans.
Together, we’ll make art (and memories) that last forever. Promise.
And since you might be wondering who I am beyond the camera… a few of my favorite things:
My shih-tzu, Levi (who may photobomb a Zoom call)
Storytelling in all its forms: from intimate black box plays to quirky web series
Long walks in the woods + cozy nights by the fire
Coffee shops (and all the lattes)
Whimsical playlists, poetry, and late-night writing sessions
Community, connection, and laughter that makes you feel alive
