How long have you two been together?

A little over four years.

If you could pick one word that describes your wedding day, what would it be?

Amanda: Magical - everything I could have hoped for.

I was so happy to see all the planning come together so well.

Keith: Relieving - everything went so well and it was a great night with family and friends.

Did you have a First Look?

The First Look was a must for us and I am very happy we did it, that was a very special time for us to share. I know that Keith would not show emotions in front of others and having this private time together was the most important to both of us.

We were able to take many pictures with each other and then had our bridal party join us for our pictures. It was a great time to spend with everyone and then gave us more time to enjoy the cocktail hour.

What did your ceremony entail?

The ceremony was very simple and my cousin Ashley was our officiant. She wrote the entire ceremony and kept it a surprise to us until the day of the wedding. It was better than I could ever have imagined; she included advice about marriage from many of our close family.

Describe your wedding day style:

Simple Winter Elegance

Describe your wedding theme:

Black, Gold, with whites and creams. Green accents.

What was your biggest wedding planning challenge, and how did you overcome it?

To be honest we didn't have any issues with planning. A long engagement has its perks as well as choosing a winter wedding date. It was very weird that everything went so well and trust me I was nervous that something had to go wrong. I am not going to lie - there were a couple little things that I would change or I didn't think of, but in the end it was an absolutely great day!

What was the most memorable part of your wedding planning?

The funniest part that we both enjoyed was when a special song was played from our favorite Marvel movie. As we were dancing a large group of our friends started dancing around us in a circle. It was such a great surprise and very unexpected. To this day we still have no idea how our why they did it. But definitely a memory we won't forget.

What advice would you like to impart to other couples planning their weddings?

Take your time and enjoy every moment.

Yes ,it can get overwhelming at times and don't try to do it all on your own. You have a bridal party and family that all want to help.

When planning, make sure to take a few days before finalizing things. I noticed that I can be impulsive at times, especially when it came to wedding decor and services. I made it a rule to take a few days before responding. It saved me a lot of money in the end. I also would ask myself, “Will anyone even notice this? Do I really need this? Will this make or break the wedding?”

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

Amanda: It was just me and my dad waiting for them to open the doors to the ceremony. As we were standing there and they opened the door for us to walk down the aisle, I looked around and just took in this moment. A moment that I had dreamed about since I was a little girl. Looking down and seeing Keith's face and all of our family and friends here for us.

Keith: Seeing the entire night be exactly what Amanda wanted- she was so happy and it really was a great time. She stressed a lot but in the end, it was what she wanted.

What is the best part (so far) about being married?

Amanda: Being able to call my best friend my husband, building our forever home together and the addition to our ever growing family.

Keith: The health insurance :) For the most part nothing has changed.

What was your reception like?

The reception was a PARTY!! Just what we wanted, nothing stuffy, just a good time and I have to say the dance floor was packed all night. We had a dessert bar and photo booth, we have many awesome pictures… and some we will say are a little Rated R.

Testimonial

Kara was great to work with and made everything very comfortable. My biggest request was that I did not have those annoying photographers that would get in the way of the day. Kara ensured me that I would not notice her and I have to say she was amazing. While looking at all the great photos I kept saying to Keith that I don't know how she got that shot, I never saw her there. Kara truly caught so many moments in our day that I am so excited to share with family, friends, and someday our kids and grandkids.
